Lots of them are out of form, not just Gillespi. Clarke is injured, Hayden is in wooful form, Warne is going to have a shocking series because of his marriage, Langer is also out of match practice and he may not be at his best in the first test.
Hayden scorede 75 runs in their match against Leicestershire and Justin Langer is on 71 n.o. Unfortanately, Clarkey is still out of form after being promoted up the batting order and scoring just 9 runs. Lee got 4/53 and Dizzy - 2/40

DT and Jaquesy should be in the squad ahead of Tait or Hussey [even though Hussey hasnt been picked]
no way man, as much as i rate jaques, Hussey is much better, especially since he's in form. he's also scored three triple hundreds in county cricket, so he can play in English conditions for sure. give it a few years tho and i'd like to see phil in the, he's only just 26.

i just hope clarke picks up his form soon, 9 runs isn't a lot....hopefully he puts a decent ton up in the first test to make me proud :D

Warnie's the one bowler who single-handedly puts the shits through their whole line-up. The psychological advantage we get with him jut being in the side is enormous. PLus he's still a world-class spinner as well and adds a lot of balance to our attack.

what a ridiculous presumption to make

warne's been through so much controversy and in the media spotlight for most of his career - he still is on good terms with his wife, and the team is there to support him too

dumbest and most naive, ignorant comment ive seen all day
i'll second that...warne will paly the best he can...and his best is realli good:)

tough choice for test selectors, a lot of people have lost faith in gillespie, it's so unlucky that we have too many world-class paceman.

thats no feeling, they will favour gillespie for his exp, kaspo if he gets in prob cause of form only which is fairly better gill hard to say.

i meant to kick out s.jones or hoggard and play flintoff as specialist and play thorpe. cos flintoff is an awesome bowler! way better than jones or hoggard.

clarke doent perform in first test match strong chance he will be dropped, hussey should replace ( can he he isnt in the test squad) hodge will have a go. Tait should replace gill or kaspo so bowling

We're getting owned :S :(

4/71 at the moment. Langer, Haydos, Punter and Marto are all back in the dressing rooms.

It's up to Clarke and Katich (and then Gilchrist) to rescue us from this turmoil. I can only hope that the three make about 280 runs between them, and then if the tail can wag for another 70 or 80 we'd score over 400...

Wishful thinking at the moment :S :S

And that's lunch on day 1.

Australia are 5/97, with Katich 7* off 25 and Gilchrist 8* off 6.

Deep deep trouble ahead. I personally thought Gilchrist wasn't going to walk onto the field until at least after tea....

Let's see how resurgent we can be....

Fuck me dead. What's goin on? Katich looks ok atm and with gilly in who knows but the poms are certainly ahead. Wat u guys think of clarke's dismissal? i think he's pretty unlucky, and langer certainly was too, looked like a no-ball, but we still gettin owned.

Mate, teams make their own luck. Australia have done it year after year lately.

England are definitely all over us now, and Gilchrist is our last shining light. Katich can possibly be the anchor from here... like, he could stay in all day and finish on about 100*. But Gilly is the one we need to stick around until stumps, I think.

If the two of them stay there until stumps, Gilchrist will be on 160 and Katich on 100, let's say. That's still 350 runs or so for the day...

The problem is making it happen :p

yeah agreed, i don't think we can complain, just sayin that it's understandable if they feel a little upset. But can't argue with the score at the moment, england are deservedly on top.
