Hey guys =D this is kinda for my 4U eng thing but just say wateva :D
In a relationship and perhaps future marriage, what would u expect ur partner to be like? Would he pay for everything? Or would you rather 50/50? Does that go for household responsibilities? income?
What would be ur ultimate nightmare scenerio of a partner thats eitha a chauvinist bastard or a bitchy feminist?
random thoughts? :D:D:D

What's your topic, specifically? Might help for us to answer along the lines of what you're looking to show/explore, rather than just random musings...?

Fifty Fifty, I think people would tend to say pretty reliably - from a guy's perspective it's nice to be able to be manly, and probably from a girl's persepctive I assume it's nice to have her man be manly... but anything can be taken too far.

I've gotten rather pissed off with girls in the past who seem to never have cash when going out, but then always getting themselves new jackets, etc, when you're not there. Grr.

...but for your english stuff I wouldn't recommend going through and acting out & recording (or whatever medium you're looking at) a bad relationship... almost anything you can think of within 5 mins of thinking has been done before, and many times at that. Best bit of advice I've gotten for creative thinking is that there are always 20 ways to do something. Write them out as you think of them. numbers 1-10 will be crap, tried and tested. numbers 10-17 will be dodgey too, but getting a little more original. numbers 18-20 will be the ones you want to consider.

If you're interested in the relationship line, keep going with it, but just make sure it's full of meaning and relates POIGNANTLY back to the question/topic... any english topic is subjective, and highly dependent on the marker's opinion so it's gotta be gold before it's gauranteed good marks....

If ur like earning 5 times what the other person is, then i think the one earning the most should pay for more. Otherwise yeah, 50/50

Well my thing is a loose appropriation of Virginia Woolf's A Room of One's Own called a Shed of One's Own. And its more focused on gender roles then the relationships themselves and the good ol shed will be the last bastion of masculinity :D. I basically tell most of it from the perspective of a chauvinist dude who wont adapt himselves to the changing world and changing gender roles. So he's complaining and everythign but i'll be undercutting most of his arguments although some of it will reveal some of the excesses of feminism etc.
And Shuter u gotta get more optimistic man =P i assure u the english teachers (of whom many are HSC markers) love it :D

this 50/50 stuff sounds nice, but I'd like any boyfriend of mine to be able to do what I cannot, and for me to be able to do what he cannot.

I prefer things to be 50/50, but I cant deny its nice being taken out to dinner and spoilt! And when I have the money,I enjoy spoiling the ones I love in return.

Hopefully, when I get married, we'll both be in a stable job, earning good money and the money will be shared; whats mine is yours and whats yours is mine... I've always looked forward to having a joint account with my husband! :)

IMO, true feminism doesn't exist anymore, all there is is a poor follow-on with angry, angsty girls who hate men because they havent ever had a boyfriend or have had their heart broken. They dont appreciate what the original Suffragettes fought for- it annoys me! They're only concerned with their own little world rather than the complete picture. And what annoys me even more is when these new-age feminists dont complain when guys pay for everything- how is that earning respect? Or are they destroying the male population from the inside by sending them bankrupt so noone will want them?

50/50 in money terms depends on your wage. Its unrealistic for a woman of 100,000 a year and her husband, say of 30, 000 a year to buy a house and split it 50/50.

Perhaps a percentage of each persons wages.

ie. the man pays 15, 000 and the woman pays 50, 0000

although the woman is paying more than 3 times as much, it is still "equal share'

LOL, repped.

Anyway, I try not to think too much about my future relationships. Doing that tends to pigeon hole you into thinking that it is or it isnt going to be a certain way, when its much more fun to ride out the unexpected.

Yeah, Grobus is right for once. Expectations can be bad, because most of the time you don't get what you want. Just live life one day at a time.

Veri true ! expectations can have major drawbacks. I mean, u all seem to prefer 50/50. What if ur partner doesn't? And we're sayign 50/50 now but would we realli keep to that in the future? or will us men still think household responsibilities is the domain of the female? and how much does holding down a good job still mean to a women in a man? =/

Its been known to happen from time to time.

Ive found that the girls Ive liked most and worked best with have always been totally unexpected and off the radar of what Id consider my ideal partner.

to be comfortable enough to give and take. so 50/50, but not measured. sometimes one person does something nice, sometime the other does.
