I wonder how much George Bush snr paid to get little Georgie into Harvard.

Didn't Latham do a arts/social sciences degree?

George Bush actually did a Bachelor of Arts(Or lib studies...whatever the Americans call it) (History) at Yale and an MBA (Master of Business Administration) at Harvard...I cant believe I actually know this off the top of my head

Zabzu: Latham did a B eco degree at USYD

Oh yeah and John Howard did his combined law degree at USYD

Howard has an LLB from USyd.

I'm not sure about those international guys you mentioned.

Costello has Arts/Law from Monash.
Latham has Economics from USyd.
Crean has Economics/Law from Monash.
Abbott has Economics/Law from USyd and and Master of Philosophy from Oxford through Rhodes scholarship.

Most of our leaders are very well educated.

There are at least half a dozen liberal backbenchers who are previous Rhodes scholars!

Latham has a B Eco (hons) rather than just a B Eco... He isn't the odd one out at all.

Someone is a little naive aren't we now? A law degree (or studying for one) is hardly indicitive of intelligence, I cite your signature as evidence.

I know people who were over 20 UAI points under the cutoff who are more suitable to study law than some law students.

Noam Chomsky didn't even finish University (2nd year drop-out). He went on to revolutionise Philosophy, Linguistics and has become the leading dissident intellectual in the world. Not to mention he is the most quoted man alive, and the 3rd most quotes (i think, may be 4th) person/thing ever, sitting behind the Bible and Shakespear.

Shows how much a degree means, also he is a big name in politics so it is still relevant to the thread.
