THREE balaclava-clad bandits held up a nightclub at Sydney's Star City Casino as about 200 patrons partied inside early today.
Police said the men, two armed with handguns, stormed into the Cave Nightclub in the Pyrmont complex about 3am (AEST).
They stole cash from a register before the fleeing in a waiting car, a police spokesman said.
"Three men wearing balaclavas and gloves, two armed with handguns, entered the club in Pirrama Road," the police spokesman said.
"The men took a quantity of cash and fled in a dark-coloured Subaru WRX."
He said the club, which was still open at the time, had about 200 patrons inside.
A large number of the patrons witnessed the incident but it was believed none were directly threatened by the bandits, a spokesman for City Central police added.
