Michelin had a similar problem last year. I don't see why they can't come up with a tyre which is not radical for Indy!

Why should ferrari cave into other teams who run other tyres, when they can have a tyre that can last the distance. And don't say because Ferrari = FIA; other teams said that they can see where ferrari are coming from.
I dunno about the GPWC though. Ferrari and red bull have already agreed to sign up with the concord agreement, however, if bernie would introduce some sensible rules maybe, just maybe we might be able to have a decent f1 race.
