Mick McCarthy sacked.

I'm quite curious on whether Wolves have a replacement lined up already. Whoever manages them, we'll be their first test in two weeks.

Re: The Official Football Thread

the england managerial position has got to be the worst job in football at the moment. it's career suicide.
idk, 6 million a year is a good trade

I think you misspelt chelsea
mourinho

Suarez still a blatant tosser.
unfortunately he is

Has there been a more dislikeable player this century? Smashing player though

I would hate to be the replacement at wolves right now

he wasn't one of the better coaches in the epl so im not surprised he's finally gone. Whoever replaces him has to be happy with coaching in the championship next season

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

sydney rebound with an non-convincing 2-1 win over perth glory. can't possibly fail to make the finals two years straight when you have a 6 in 10 chance of making it.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

looks like it will be a 9 team a-league next season
what happened...? (haven't looked at the news websites yet)

Is it something to do with Clive Palmer and Gold Coast or something?

Absolutely unbelievable that football can attract so many mental owners. It's utter madness in Europe especially.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

palmer was on the world game last night. he pretty much avoided all the big questions and re-stated his company line every time he was in a sticky situation. he says they will be there next season but with no fans, it seems unlikely.

Re: The Official Football Thread

The first leg of the R16 in the UCL nearly over. Any ideas on who will make it over the finish line? I suspect a lot of people would expect another Barcelona win but they haven't been as dominate in La Liga this season round. Certainly doesn't look like any English sides will make it through. Horrendous season in continental football.

pretty happy with the results so far. the smaller teams are pulling above their weight which is always good. just a shame that i can only watch half the games coz i leave the house at 8am each morning.

Aye, if I had to put money on it, that would be the final I would expect.

No-one still appointed at Wolves. They've approached the likes of Curbishley, Bruce, Poyet, Smith and they've all turned them down. Bodes quite well for us on Saturday night.

A Basel v APOEL final would make this one of the best seasons in the CL. Other than chelsea being in the final (which is looking very unlikely now) thats what i want to see

Re: The Official Football Thread

Terry Connor appointed for the remainder of the season at Wolves.

Probably would have done better to keep McCarthy on if they are serious about this. Look at how Kean has fared after Venky's sacked Allardyce at Blackburn.
