being beaten by a 9.0 earthquake isn't exactly a huge fault
the problem was the tidal surge iirc. to save money they built the plant 34 metres lower (relative to sea level) then was recommended.

yeah, but my point was that it survived the 9.0 earthquake. everything in japan is built to survive earthquakes for fucks sake. it would've survived the tidal surge too, if it weren't for cost cutting.

safety is a priority when it comes to nuclear power? who knew.
