Anyone care to explain please.

Which part? For i), you use /\s ABE and FCB. For ii) you use the sum of angle formula for tan (or cot). iii) You minus the areas of teh triangles from the square, then use (ii) to get it all in terms of p. iv) you just differentiate (iii) and sub in.

i only got i) and ii)

i) use triangle EAB for alpha, so tan alpha = 1/p

and tan beta = 1/q

ii) tan (alpha + beta) = (tan alpha + tan beta)/ 1-(tan alpha X tan beta)

therefore tan 135 = (p+q)/(pq - 1)

-1 = (p+q)/(pq - 1)

p+q = 1-pq

ran out of time for the rest

the whole paper looks like it revolved around only a few topics
the basic 3 unit stuff they love to wack in,
ie. newtons, perpendicular distance, inverse functions and their graphs
aswell as
a bit of probabilty
heaps of motion
and heaps of geometry
