from the trailer it looks very similar. besides, Hero was out in 2002. It was produced with some asian guy as the director, with strong possiblities of communist propagenda. Quentin probably added 2-3 minutes and claimed it as his own...

This was my Number 3 pick for Foreign Language Film, after "Nowhere In Africa" from Germany, and Devdas from India.

Hero - is a classic remake of the tale of the assasin and the first emperor of china.

This one is the biggest budget i think up to now, but there have been many before it, although this is more a case of storyline rather than fighting scenes.

you guys are all wrong with tarentino... what happened is this, he was campaigning for hero to be brought to western shores, and in order to do so they said that he had to 'present' it... he didn't really do anything, they just shoved his name on the front.

Meh, I didn't really like it. I mean it's absolutely gorgeous to look out - just wow, really stunning, but the plot just isn't very interesting.

i absolutely loved the movie when i came out, it was really interesting. 9/10. they are just releasing it to the western audience, nothing's changed its still HERO.
