The Maclopedia (1 Viewer)

Hi peeps,

If I haven't harrassed you about the Maclopedia before, it's basically a Macquarie-based Wikipedia (clever name eh?)

I've just written a set of standards for Club and Society entries:

If you're a member of any clubs, or know someone who is (especially exec members), could you get them to create a page for their club? All you need to do to post is register on the forum - you only have to register once (though the forum and wiki use seperate logins.)

The one thing that really discourages me is the lack of a sort of index or just a contents page navigation system to make it easier for people to know what exactly there is, if current entries need modification etc. I don't want to make a page called something slightly different, say GPA as opposed to Grade Point Average, only to find out someone has a page already up.

Any option to organise such a page, if so, I might be a bit more active in posting a few articles

I really like the idea of the maclopedia, I would read the whole thing. I also find it hard to navigate.

It's really just starting out right now. Pretty much just me posting there, so there's only a couple of articles. I can almost guarantee that if you wrote a page, it would be new.

If someone wants to take over the task of managing and organising, that would be just swell!

I'm thinking several major strands:

1. Academic
2. Buildings
3. Support (?)
4. Clubs & Societies

Academic should be broken up into administration, and colleges (then divisions), departments and centres, then units.

I've half written a set of standards for Units as well, like the Clubs and Societies one: http://www.clubmac.net.au/maclopedia/index.php/Maclopedia:Units

Buildings would have blocks (like F Block, C Block etc.), then buildings (C3A, C4A), then possibly even rooms (information like the AV fascilities in the room, air conditioning etc.)

Community would be things like the organisations (SAM, MUSC, MUSR etc.) as well as the Uni's SSS.

These are very loose ideas. If you had more, I'd love to hear them.
