A walk through the buildings at the Sydney Quad is like a step through time, a sandstone building standing amongst the city skyscrapers as an inspiration to students of peserverance.

History is reflected as time seeps through the porous rock.

A reminder to all students of the traditions of Australia's first institution of higher education, upheld by the many Australians who have passed through these walls.

(that must be the greatest thing I have pulled from my arse since... the hsc)

wow!!!!! IMPRESSIVE................a fine challenge to any UNSW student.......then again i'd advise them not to attempt to challenge this piece of prose unless of-course they seek to humiliate themselves...........hahahahahahahahahahah................give up now!!!!!!

UNSW students mindless drones?!?!?! i don't think so! the amount of community spirit in UNSW is just phenomenal and surpasses that of any other university in NSW. and hey, how can you survive uni without that close, fun (outrageous) community atmosphere. :p

*smiles with pride*

 ;) :p

I've never been to U/NSW so I can't judge. But I went to Syd Uni the other day and I love the buildings. Their architechture may look old but in a beautiful way. True, the campus is big and the buildings are far apart but hey, I'll never have to work out at the gym again. (Yes there is a gym at Sydney Uni just like all other campuses.)

Gungy buildings at Usyd? Yes...i agree that there are some

But there is a real feeling of a learning environment at Usyd. The buildings are a reflection of years of academic study at our university, and BESIDES ...LAW PEOPLE...we are having a BRAND NEW BUILDING when we get to fourth year....located at OUR campus... SO *EVIL LAUGH* another new building to usyd. And yes though the St James one is horrible....i wouldnt mind (being a female) going there every morning with all the sexy men going to the supreme court or their respective businesses! THE SUITS! HAHAH!

Usyd by 2010 shall be MORE BEAUTIFUL with all the refurbishments and so forth...SO HUMPTH!

The GREAT thing i love about USYD: is the feeling of the student body...posters and student opinions are EVERYWHERE, they are plastered to walls, the floor and walkways, the hallways...everywhere! It really feels like a university where student organisations are fostered.

UNSW looks so artificial and superficially pretty where nothing is out of place that student views look about dead compared to syd!

porphyria: u a law student too??? Were u there today? U going on camp?

Btw - we may be the first group to be on main campus for all 5 years...tho i have yet to know of a construction endeavour to actually run to schedule, so perhaps not! :p

Ohhh and I'm *loving* wandering round campus, it is just so open, beautiful and friendly...really conducive to the creation of an atmosphere of fun, enthusiasm and learning :D

Yeha i do want to go on camp....! (of course) - despite my reservations...=p

i have realised that ciggarettes and alcohol are really good instruments in making friends and socialising...too bad i dont like smoking, and well im allergic to alchohol...aahaha one shot and my face is tomato red, my whole body is splotchy (looks awful as im generally a pale-ish asian) and i feel like i am going to have a heart attack.....

It's a wonder that the whole alcohol thing does make me more inclined to go on the camp! =D

You are probably attracted by the opportunity to laugh at everyone else's moronic antics, and knowing you can have some very useful information for extortion for at least the next 5 years... :D

haha, reminds me of my legal class, paying out sydney uni! they were all saying that sydney uni people are arrogant, that just like being part of the syd uni exclusiveness etc, and then I was like, "but I wanted to go there..." and there like no! you will be much better here.

I think USYD's quad looks better but UNSW looks better everywhere else. I'm at UNSW. Doing a course I don't like (Actuarial ) and most my mates are at USYD. I mean I'm fine at UNSW. I know people in pretty much all my classes and I'm sweet enough since my days are pretty much solid anyway so it's not a huge problem. I'd just rather be at USYD with my mates :)

This whole UNSW quad vs Sydney quad is unbelievably stupid.

I mean, come ON. To actually propose that the two are comparable? Please!

I don't care what you say about UNSW being bigger, it's quality not quantity that counts, and Uni of Sydney has plenty of it. :D

El

p.s- If you are still in doubt of what I have said above, go sit under the jacaranda tree in the Sydney quad one afternoon...and believe you me, you 'll be converted ;)
