i think you'll find that conventions are completely thrown out of the window with this text... including a satisfactory resolution. you can't approach it like any other text... work the postmodern angle. our teacher has given us a list of themes to explore, which includes:
-the parody of agatha christie's mousetrap
-the sense of illogical logic
-satire, social commentary
-postmodernism
-philosophy in the real inspector hound (chaos theory, bergson's etc.)
There are more which i can't remember off the top of my head...
the question for our assessment is about how tom stoppard uses parody to convey complex ideas.
