yep thats true. i found it by intuition... hahaha. read my post before.

edit: ok ok... i have nothing to do anyways... i'll explain it.

you see the turning point must occur in the middle of -3 > x > 2, because its a parabola with asymtotes to either side of that domain. so the turning point must be located at x = - 0.5 or -1/2, so you sub that into the equation to get the y value. no calculus... no need. :p

edit: you use hsc 50 tips? great book... that guy knows his stuff... go through every question in there you be set for the hsc. :)

A graph for hatty:

EDIT: IMAGE TAKEN DOWN. :)

LOL, i love the way Hatty speaks. So wierd, so funny. lol

I'll be deleting this soon, don't worry, its wasting space on my website. :(

Look on bottom right for critical points. This is an accurate graph of the equation you posted up. :)

hmm, i could provide it to you. It would cost $20 though.

Or you could google and get it for free. :D

lol, why don't people google, seriously! It amazes me, you can anything from the net. You don't necessarily need Graphimatica, there are heaps of other graphing software available. Thing is, its not very useful. I just got it out of curiousity and to help myself/other when drawing up curves. No real practical use.

looking at the above pic: u need to mark the intercepts, asymptotes...then it shuld b fine. :)

note: u don't need to provide the turning points, unless they insist on it.

what are you... an idiot? :p

don't listen to freaking_out 04ers... he/she is fully trying to lose you marks in the exams.

you need to be able to show the intercepts, asymtotes, and turning points. for that y = 1/f(x) graph anyway.

I use graphsight, the graphs look better, of course you need to do parametrics for circles. Of course it doesnt have all the finding critical points etc.

Trust me, it doesn't really help. I bet you KeypadSDM didn't have any of these software, and look at the marks he got. Its better if you do it yourself.
