I know what kind of HSC Exam marks you need to get for a UAI of 100.00, do your assessment marks need to be 100 or around the 98-100 mark also ?!?

I.e leniency...?!?

Look at the honour roll:

Economics, English as a Second Language, Mathematics Extension 1, Mathematics Extension 2, Physics

That's from a guy who got 100.

he must have come like 1st in esl or something

realistically speaking, i'm guessing candidature wise

so for english he would rank below most of advanced and standard, get ranked in top 21 in nsw

Your changes of gettin' a UAI of 100 with ESL is probably 1,000 times greater than if you did Standard.

hsc marks are the average of ur internal assessment marks, and external exam mark, all aligned of course. ur int assess marks won't matter, just ur rank in your school cohort, and how well ur school does in the externals as a whole.

eg. say u come first in eng adv with a mark of only 60% in ur school overall. yet u get 98 in externals, then all things being equal, ur hsc mark for eng adv will be 98. i'm just trying to illustrate that its not the assessment marks,, but ur rank and ur and ur school's performance in the externals that matters

I disagree. ESL scale UP if you get a band 6.
The highest mark for ESL this year was 96, which got scaled to 100.

So I don't know what you people are on about the slim chance of getting UAI of 100 by doing ESL.

And No, this person didn't came first in ESL.

flyin' meant the person had a HIGHER chance of getting 100 by doing ESL as opposed to doing standard english.... unless you are saying it should be 10000 times greater or something :D

ESL gets scaled up if you're in the 99th percentile...which is very unfair, but check the statistics (table A2).
