Timetable enrolment error (1 Viewer)

I'm going into my 2nd year at unsw undertaking commerce. I plan to major in finance and so ive tried to enrol in fins2624 and fins3616. Well i've successfully enrolled in fins2624 but when i try to enrol in fins3616 i get this message Error:Requirements have not been met to enrol in the specified class. The enrolment transaction was not processed. i'm wondering what this requirement is. Also i've tried to enrol in mgmt1001 but i can only see the lectures and no tutorials. Are there no tutorials for mgmt1001?

FINS2624 is a prerequisite for FINS3616, therefore you must have successfully completed FINS2624 before you can enrol into FINS3616. (refer to the handbook for prerequisites)

I believe since MGMT1001 is a first year course and core, the system will reopen enrolments for it when the 2014 starting students can enrol. That will be on Wed 18 December 2013.

For commerce there are academic rules: http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/faculties/2014/comm/AcadRulesBCom.html

In particular, "A minimum of 24 UOC of courses must be completed before enrolling in Level 2 courses/ A minimum of 72 UOC of courses must be completed before enrolling in Level 3 courses". Since you're in 2nd year you would not have completed 72 UOC until the end of semester 1 2014.

As for your mgmt1001, there are tutorials but im not sure why you can't view them.

then which subjects can i choose other than fins2624 and mgmt1001 if im doing a finance major as i've already done fins1613 and 12 in my first year and ive done 4 of the flexible core courses.

Have you done:

ACCT1501 Accounting & Financial Mgt 1A (6 UOC)
ECON1101 Microeconomics 1 (6 UOC)
ECON1203 Business & Economic Statistics (6 UOC)

(i.e. Compulsory core courses) ?

Do an elective. I'm doing 2624 + ACF next sem, haven't done 3616 either. Most people do BFM or Wealth as their first.

If you are doing Commerce, you get two majors. Maybe enrol into courses in your other major? Or you can do a gen ed course.

Yeap they are courses outside your faculty. There is a list of gen ed courses somewhere
