You just start ignoring people... especially when they ask you - what did you do on the weekends, and you're like - erhhh... study?

No, you only need Crs in ACST101, STAT171, ACCG105 and ECON111 from first year. All you need is to Pass the rest.

It's a good habit to get into, besides everything else. :p People who get Passes have a habit of doing so (or worse) when Credits are needed.

Well, I'm not too sure... but they vary markedly each year and depending on each subject.

Just ask two specific units... and I'll give you estimates as to the breakdown.

i asked the stat guy. he said an eg. for HD is
stat170 - 10 / 1000 = 1%
stat171 - 10/100 = 10%

so in other words it depends on the lecturer, difficulty of the course etc.

You chose the dodgy ones... :p Should've picked 211 and 133 (but I'm not going to do them now ;))

ACST101 (Semester II): ~650 candidates
HD: Less than 10%
D: Between 10 to 20%
Cr: Between 20-30%
P: Over 50%
PC, F: Less than 10%?

STAT171: ~200+ candidates
HD: 5-10%
D: 10-25%
C: 20-30%
P: 40-50%
PC, F: 10-20% (In the past it was more like 20%... but changes to 211 might have reduced it.)

Ah... stuff this, I'll do 211 before I sleep; I think I'm closer to the money on this one, anyway :p

Candidature: ~180

HD: ~5%
D: ~10%
Cr: ~20%
P: ~60%
PC,F: ~10%

I'd say, D and Cr could each be slightly less.

So that means that 50-70% of people have to redo the unit?

edit: ok, maybe less cos there are people other than actuaries doing it, but still, that's heaps.

Well, let's just say... they're (probably going to be) more lenient and when I wrote 200+ candidates... that meant that they were many non-Actuarials who did the unit. Actuarials tend to do much better.

Well, the figures I posted for 171 are probably more true for previous year... in my year they had few people F and P... but those that did Pass rarely got anything more than a P in 211 and many Failed it.

bong, semester one, ACST101 is much easier in terms of marks... for example, I beat the guy, who got on the Merit List in 101 in semester 1 (w 90+ mark in 101), in 211... but only just managed a D in 101 in semester 2.
