Hey

There are many ways when it comes to studying Business Studies. In general, you will see that studying Business Studies is quite a difficult task due to its enormous contents. However, most of them can be easily related with your common sense. The BEST way to study is to study as a hierarchy system.

For example,

In HSC syllabus there is a syllabus dot point in regards to the skills of the management.

The way to study it would be to make the notes like this:

Skills of management:
  • Technical Skills
  • Conceptual Skills (which involves strategic thinking skills and vision)
  • Interpersonal skills (or people skills)
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change skills
  • Self-managing skills
  • Teamwork skills
  • Complex problem solving and decision making skills
  • High personal standards and ethics
Then make brief notes on each dot point. In business, it's very important to cover as much dot point as possible.

How to answer? Answer the question directly. Don't give unnecessary details. But be exact. In essay, if you mention all the dot points and explain them all, you are fine.

The best textbooks I found around here are Business Studies in Action and Leading Edge. Some people say that Codsi textbook is good too. BUT DON'T BUY anything yet. See what you get at school first and then buy another one. You will be quite pissed off if you end up having two same books....

Hope this helped.
