Here are TEN tips:

1 Study every day (even if only for 20 min)
2 Ask questions if you don't understand (you will never catch up otherwise)
3 If you have time go ahead (and then class is revison)
4 Do lots of practice questions
5 Ask for feedback after assement tasks
6 Don't spend all your time on one subject
7 Don't do "harder" subjects just because they scale well
8 Make flash cards
9 Make clear, simple notes
10 Have FUN in your courses

PS: What subjects do you do?

Hey, I'm in yr 12 and I'm busy studing ...

Ok, If you look at your other thread in 3U/4U I've already given my thoughts on what you should do ...

YOU DO:

english(advanced)
maths 3u
physics
chemistry
biology

OK, so your a science girl. Doing 4U maths will help with physics (you do a mechanics topic), but 3U will give you all the skills you really need.
If yiou do 4U you will have 12 units, can you cope with that many?? (I do 13U ...)

Do you like what 4U you/ve done so far?
(are you doing complex nos or graphs at the moment?)

Reply to this then I can help more ...

PS: Don't do 4U maths just to boost your UAI ...

How to get a uai of 99.95+ (according to sourie)

1) Dont study throughout the year
2) Abuse all your teachers and blame them for your shit marks
3) Mention you are a genius
4) Abuse others for not being geniuses
5) In english dont even mention your prescribed texts
6) In business studies use your grandpa's expert advice and make up the rest
7) In ancient history make up sources and change history so it suits you
8) Mention that you are extremely talented
9) Leave every hsc exam 1.5 hours early
10) Abuse everyone for staying for the full three hours
11) Tell everyone that you blitzed the hsc

That is how, according to sourie, you can get a uai of 99.95+

hehehe yeh i agree with maaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnndy...... just have a total ball this next year! the social life is great! go out, enjoy your youth, tell everyone you got a UAI of 99, and go to TAFE because you wanted to "take another aporach to life"
if you really want to go to uni that bad... go as a mature age student...

A surefire way to become the most hated asshole anybody knows!
But hopefully Sourie will soon release an autobiography or you know....
"Best of Sourie" or something...what a toss.

haha i agree.

99+ uai: study your f*cken brains out.

but depending on the course you want to do it may be good for your sanity to exchange 3 or 4 uai points for a social life.

good luck and such :)

If you DON'T go to a good school, tina, make SURE you teach everyone else to go better in the subjects you do... :p
You really need that 'pool' of marls distributed to each school to increase your chances.

edit: on the other hand, you COULD get the worst people to drop out :p...

So u want advice on getting above 99 UAI. OK:

I think one very important thing is having a max of 12 units...i prefer 10...i really dont believe in the "wat if u stuff up in one" theory. Coz then the question arises "wat if u stuff up in 2/3..etc"..should u then have 20 units...i think u get the point. Its ok to have 'insurance; units but they take up time and a s such marks of other subs.

I would really advise u doin 4u maths. Without it it wont be easy (at all) gettin over 99 (possible but quite hard). SO if ur good at maths (no need to be a genius) then give 4u a go...its not as hard as people usually think.

Other then the obvious 'Study hard' advice it think setting clear goals is important. Use lazseeker, play around a bit to see how u can get a 99+. U seem to like the sciences and i assume your good at them and thus it wont be hard for u to get a HSC aligned mark of 90+ in all three. Now with a mid 80 in eng..and a 45/47 or so in 3u, i think ull cross the 99. But to make it a lil easier my advice would be to drop one of the sciences and take up 4u...in which a 90 would be enuff (and a 90 in 4u is prob easier then a 90 in say bio).

SO the decision is yours..set ur goals NOW and work towards them and you'll have no prob.

:) GOOD LUCK!

MAnnnnndy..mate...im speechless...BRAVO!

Ozz^E has good advice if all that matters to you is getting a UAI about 99... that is, choose your subjects around what scales well, what will get you over the line. I think this is a very bad way to go about year 12 tho. You should choose the subjects you want to do, and do you best in them. If you are interested in 13 or 14 units of subjects, do 13 or 14 units. If you would rather do history than an extra unit of maths then do it. If you are good enough, you will get over 99. If you are not good enough, you will get below 99. Either way you get a mark which reflects how good you are and what subjects you are interested in - and this will be a more useful tool in deciding what you want to do for the rest of your life then 'playing the game' to get an awesome mark and getting into high 'prestige' uni courses which may not be for you. Thats the way i see it anyway.

Yeh, mjor's got a very vlaid point. My advice is just what i think is the easiest way to cross the 99 mark. But everyone has their priorites and should make decisions accordingly.
