hey guys,

if anyone please has any tips regarding business reports and how to score a 20/20 in them, please, please let me know.

ALSO i've gotten Bs in all my business reports so far and have consistently been provided with the feedback of dividing into subheadings. while I do this, i'm still confused about it slightly - is it just syllabus points we make the subheadings or are we allowed to make the main points of our argument into subheadings too?

thank you in advance, any help would be appreciated guysss! ๐Ÿ™

Yeah, business reports have a pretty specific structure, best way for me to explain is an example, so ill just type up what my business report for marketing looked like (including the numbers!):
1. Executive Summary
*executive summary here* "This report was commissioned by..." "This report will..." (ect..)
2. main heading, broad topic of the next paragraphs.
2.1 Specific topic within the broader topic, write a paragraph under this.
*paragraph content*
2.2 The next specific topic with paragraph, ect...
*Paragraph*
2.3... 2.4... Ect...
3. second major topic
3.1 sub topic paragraph
*Paragraph*
3.2 subtopic two..
*Paragraph*
3.3.... 3.4.... ect...
do this as many times as needed then a conclusion.
Business paragraphs shouldn't be too long, but you should have a few, For my recent report, i did executive summary, 6 body paragraphs under 3 main headings, and a conclusion. Each paragraph was around 2/3-1 of an exam booklet page (This report was done in 55 minutes instead of the average 45 minutes, so you may do less writing per paragraph or less paragraphs). It does't necessarily have to be under syllabus point headings unless its relevant to the question or if it's something your school encourages.

Yeah, of course!
"Explain how Marketing Processes may affect a business' Marketing strategies" was my question.

My executive summary was super simple, first sentence i answered the question ("Marketing processes have a large effect on the marketing strategies a sucessful business will undertake"). Then i stated the purpose of the report ("this report will..."), then mentioned my case studies.
My main three topics each connected one Marketing process to one Marketing strategy, eg: "Situational Analysis & Promotions Mix", "Market research & Global Marketing Strategies".
Under Each topic, my subheadings were "role of *Marketing Process*" and "Effect on *Marketing strategy*".
Under the subheadings is where you write the paragraphs

The paragraphs and headings do not need to be as formulaic as mine, especially if your question has multiple parts.
Eg: another question i've done on the role of Marketing and HRM. And two strategies for each. The structure the teachers gave us was:
Executive summary
Role of marketing and HRM
Role of marketing
Role of HRM
Marketing strategies
Strategy name 1
Strategy name 2
Hrm strategies
Strategy name 1
Strategy name 2
Conclusion
The way you write headings and structure it is really dependant on the question. But heading names shouldnt matter too much as long as they are accurate, descriptive and numbered correctly. Also too many sub headings is just as bad as not having enough, id say do 2-3 per main heading
Thanks for reading this and i hope this helps GOOD LUCK!!! :)
