We did it today... and we broke 3 burettes, all our own.
One, the girl had it too lose and it broke, so my teacher put it in and she did it too hard so it imploded. So the angry man at Macquarie Uni put it in and he broke it too! My Chem teacher was not happy.
My school got 3 out of the 6 places, and my team came second :)

I think a score of 1 is 50% luck, in local comp a team from my school last year got a score of 4 i think, they were like....wtf..

yea well the shore guys had their results to like 2dp and the equipment was only accurate/marked to one dp

that is for example if the sample took 24.5ml to neutralise they would some how have like 24.53 or something
i mean i can understand 24.55 but that had like 0.03 and 0.04 and stuff....

and since they hosted it that had like better equipment
well thats what i'm sticking by anyway

and plus i was given a 20ml pippette instead of a 25mL....
less volume that i titred against therefore less accurate....
dodgy privos

I was in the Shore team that came first, with a combined error of 1 =). I don't mean to brag, but a score of zero can be easily achieved without luck, it just requires sufficient practice. I haven't actually studied the uncertainty analysis of this particular experiment, however, scores of 0--1 are routinely achieved at Shore.
