Greetings.
I've just received an offer in the late round for Bachelor of Science (Advanced), after getting into Bachelor of Medical Science in the main round.
I didn't really expect this late round offer, but it has its own merit, and the time has come to make a quck decision, on whether to accept this new offer or not.
I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me by answering some of the questions I would like to know the answer of, before I have to make the decision by 1pm tomorrow.

1. I am thinking of majoring some subjects that relates to medicine, such as biochemistry, pharmacology and physiology, and possibly get into research for government or laboratory, or university teaching arena later on. Would Medical Science have a special edge over science (advanced) with same major, in gaining such research/teaching position, or doesn't it have much difference?

2. In terms of WAM and GPA, if you want to graduate with same major (say pharmacology), which degree is more advantageous in gaining higher mark, Medical Science or Science (Advanced)?

3. Also in regard to WAM and GPA, do the academics take into account which course you are doing (whether medical science, science advanced or molecular biotechnology) when marking a subject, or is the chosen degree of student irrelevant in the marking of same subject?

4. Which is harder to achieve, transfer from Science (Advanced) into Medical Science, or from Medical Science to Science (Advanced)?

5. Finally, is the relative flexibility of Science (Advanced) course useful in further study, research or other employment prospect, or is specialist focus of Medical Science more valued?

Thank you very much in advance for any input.

I'd go with B science (advanced). I was initially interested in doing medical subjects, but now I'm interested in chemistry, which you wouldn't be able to do in a med sci degree.

B science (advanced) provides most of the majors that med sci has, including physiology, pharmacology and biochemistry.

I don't think the courses affect your WAM/GPA- only the scaling of your subjects would.

Adv Sci hands down. (Unless you are really sure you want to take all the units in the quite restrictive MedSci degree)

I meant to ask, whether the core unit of Medical Science have good scaling and thus whether I have good chance of getting high WAM/GPA. If it's not so, science electives of science (Advanced) during second year would have higher scaling, and thus better chance of attaining higher average mark.

I'm not sure about that. You probably have to ask a 3rd year med sci student.

But do what you enjoy. Don't base it on scaling.

At least with adv science, you can as many adv subjects as you want (as long as you meet the prerequisites), which all scale well.

BTW, I think it's easier to transfer from adv sci to med sci than the other way around.
