drop to 2unit maths, if u can't get da things in 3u easily.
I took about 4 months to get the concept of parametric locus and still managed a mark in the mid-high 90s for 3u. If you are reasonably capable and are willing to put the work in you will reap the benefits of 3u's juicy scaling.

and look at the courses which you want to apply for in uni. if maths is a requisite then well done. however, in most courses, they recommend that you should have done maths extension 1 for your hsc. you will have to do a bridging course in your summer holidays. i heard that it really gets nasty. you have to do the whole hsc course within a few weeks.

they dont test on the bridging course and they dont care how much you know, but you're better off making sure you stick to the prerequisites required. depends on how hard the tests at your school are too.

sometimes they don't have prerequitsites thought it would be advised that you know the stuff that they wish you to have learnt.

Science @ USYD is designed so that you can fill the maths requirements by only doing the Mathematics course in the HSC. If you want a greater challenge in doing Normal or Advanced units you require maths ext 1 and/or maths ext 2

you only benefit from 3unit when you do 4unit. Otherwise that one (high scaling) unit does jack shit to your uai :(

If you are a quitter, then don't do any math at all.
Otherwise, continue with your MX2.

All I can say is do it.

I did absolutely no work for it all year (I studied for the trial in the 2hours in the morning before the exam and no more). I actually turned up on the morning of the trial and asked the course person if i could drop it. Turns out i needed my parents signature to do so which saved me in retrospect.

For the trial I think I got 67% roughly.

Anyway after the scaling kicked in my piss poor assessment mark went to 90 and I got 90 in the exam too, and it actually counted as a unit towards my UAI. I'm very glad i didn't drop it actually.
