what marks are generaly needed 2 get a band 6 in physcis (and chem 2). my teacher thinks i should get a band 6, and i am aiming high 2 ensure myself i do get it, but unfortunatly i got 82% in my last test but i am still goin at 93% as a combined mark so far.
i no in 2u maths a 100/120 was a band 6. 95-98 was a low band 6 and anything about 110 was 96+
physics scales alot better althou it is totaly different 2 physics, are we looking at a 86-90/100 2 get a band 6, or is it generally higher or lower. any info would be apprechiated

I got a 95 last year with 87/100 raw marks, so last year you would have been looking at around mid to low 80s for a band 6.

i think it really depends on the year, if the year is good, the band 6 mark is higher and vice versa...

Is 87/100 the mark ur real raw mark (I mean the mark u were awarded by examiners)?

How much do u hav to study for physics to manage a 95+?

Yes it was. As for study, making my own notes took up most of my physics study time (mainly because i started making them after i completed the course), usually about 4 hours per week was sufficient for me in the weeks leading up to the HSC exams.

IMO, I would be safe and say if you can pull of 90's, you will get a band 6. But again, depends on the year. Just pray for a really dumb state cohort.

wow milan, u just made ur notes after u completed the course u must be very smart, or u just decided to try hard at the end. Which one did u do?

As for getting a band 6, its all up to u, anyone can get a band 6 in any subject, its how much u put in it. The amount u put in, will show ur hsc mark..

i got 93 both in physics and chem last year and my biggest advice is to look at ur syllabus, study ur syllabus!!!

they cant ask you anything that is not on the syllabus, i did no notes during the year and in the 3-4 weeks before the exam crammed as much in as i could testing myself on each and every dot point making sure i could answer it...and it paid off ;)

Nothing to do with the candidatures, it is to do with how the marking scheme correspond to the band descriptors.
