I totally agree with the farmer , i think that these aboriginals are totally blowing it out of proprtion . " KKK " wtf ? , those stupid Abo kids have repeatedly robbed the farm .

It really annoys me how the kid starts Bs about him being Trumatised about the ordeal , come on .......

Im starting to feel less sympathetic for Aboriginals now , sure the " stolen Generation " was inhumane . But its been nearly 100 years . Also the Redfern incident just adds on

Hang on. The local indigenous people are blowing an incident involving a noose around the neck out of proportion?

It may not have been race-related on the part of the farmer and his son, but it is bloody disgusting regardless.

I didn't watch Today Tonight, by the way.

Generator, surely it's wrong for him to detain them in that way, but do you really think it's racist? or Traumatic?

Around the neck was probably a bit harsh, but i'd definately hold them despite that being breaking the law.

[Im ashamed to say that] I heard John Laws say some similar shit about this "bushie" "probably" being a great bloke, who'd just "done his nut", and also suggesting that the only reason he pleaded guilty was because he probably couldnt afford court costs AND that the 'Abbo' was "taking money out of our pockets" by taking up the action.

I had no idea this type of talk existed, and I even contemplated ringing up - but then realised that that's what he wanted me to do. Ha. Screw you talk back. Maggie: 1.

Who the hell are you to suggest that such an incident would not be traumatic, NTB?

Racially motivated or not (I was on the fence), it should be more than obvious that it will inflame racial tensions.

Edit: I'm not necessarily against detaining the kid, just the manner in which it was done.

I think a noose around the neck was stupid as well, but I also think the reaction was shit.
As to how I know whether it'd be traumatic or not, it's an assumption.

Resist the talk back scurge. They dont really believe what they say, they just bait for responses. If we can stand up to him, all bos may be free and the life of the forum may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted right-wing loonies.

A rope around the neck is a harsh. The first thing you would think is that you are going to get hanged.

Edit: The originaly poster watches today tonight, so we all know what his opinions are worth.

No placing a rope around some aboriginal person neck is nothing like a lynching.

Nothing at all like what the KKK used to do. Totally not racial. I'm sure all bushmen restrain single house breakers with a noose around their neck.

30 to 40 years ago.
You can't compare what the KKK did to that.

The KKK killed their victims, often after they had already been sentenced by a court.

Anyone who watches Today Tonight deserves to be hung with a rope, then beaten with a large stick.

Today tonight isn't bad, it's just that its a very biased program.

I personally don't watch it because all it does is highlight the unfairness of the world which makes me angry and depressed.

No it's just a stupid show.

I can pretty much give you the formula for every segment they do.

- Introduce minor problem, exagerate it.
- Interview some random person from the street with little-to-no intelligence
- Exagerate further, perhaps get the opinion of some outspoken scientist
- Interview another random person from the street with little-to-no intelligence
- Insult or harass the supposed causer of the problem, make them look bad
- Interview the first random person from the street again.
- Sum everything up, and give some weak ass solution on how you can stop this 'major problem'

This also applies to 60 minutes, I think I might actually have the two confused.

Yep. Like this quote from the local Indigenous leader

"The justice system stinks. It's saying it's all right for non-indigenous people to go and put a rope around someone's neck and drag them up and down a river and give them a flogging.
This guy is a fucking cunt. He is totally full of shit.
