Unless the program you have chosen explicitly requires a double degree. eg you can't do combined law and then drop the non-law component, because there is no undergraduate law program without another degree attached. Undegrads can only do combined law.

sometimes, it depends on what u wanna drop ... for eg, at unsw, if u do a double degree with comm/sci, u can drop either of them and keep the other. but a comm/engg double doesnt allow u to drop the engg part, as that is the 'main' degree. if u wanna drop, u'd have to drop the comm part ...

Also scholarships may be inflexible about changing from the course for which you initially applied. Even if its not a faculty scholarship.
