im not causing trouble, im just challenging peoples preconceptions and asking the question 'why'.

You seem to have this hangup that im calling people from UWS unintellgient. Im not saying everyone is, im just saying if it has lower uai's as in much lower uai's then many other universities then therefore it must have more people of lesser intelligent.

Did i ever once say cape (exept for my post before about your inability to comprehend logic) that you, or nastar or any specific person is unintelligent? NO!.

UAI could be considered a measure of the person perceived intelligence,persistance and motivation during that particalar period of time. This shows ur potential during at period. thats why when you go to co op scholarship interviews they generally will not accept you if u have a uai below 95 becuase it shows a perceived lack of potential during that period. on the bases of "the past determines the future" generalisaiton


it is a generalisation i know a person who got 99.85 and his avg mark for 1st sem was 20 ...but u can tell with his uai that he has alot of potential

Exactly i think you kind of understand what im trying to say. In that period either you will do extremly well because your really intelligent. Or you will do really well because you spend 100% of time studying. In theory, and practically the less you study and the less intelligent you are the lower your UAI will be. Yes there are other influences that affect UAI's but thats getting down to comparing people with close uai points. The wider separations such as the <60 and the >90 you will see effort and intelligence vs lack of effort and intelligence.

If you actually bother to read my posts proberly, and something that ive repeated several times now. Im not just saying that UAI is a measure of intelligence. Im saying its a measure of intelligence OR application (application which is affected by many outside reasons). There is nothign you can say otherwise because unless you show me someone who is really intelligent, and spends all there time studying but still gets a uai of 60, then my argument is completely sound by definition.

If you want to measure intelligence, go and do an IQ test. The uai is just a rank on how well you basically memorise stuff in the hsc. Plus, its only a sample anyway, cause its only for people in nsw.

IQ means jack shit, I can rort the IQ questions any day...

your really not helping my cause. Im not trying to say that people everyone who goes to UWS are all stupid, because thats not true. Im just saying that there probably is a increased number of people who did poorly at skill probably due to lack of intelligent compared to other universities. This is based on the facts i see. And im talking probably a larger proprotion of 1-10% more students compared to the idiots who manage to get into other universities.

LazyBoy, just give it up, please. UAI rankings for UWS courses may be low, but at the same time a degree is a degree in that in order for it to be awarded certain standards must be met... Just because someone may enter uni does not necessarily mean that they will stay on. Besides, standards are supposedly dropping at each and every university (I would say that that is true from my own experiences), so I don't see much point in believing that UWS is any different in terms of intelligent students within a particular course than any other university.

secondly, you, or anybody else doesn't necessarily have to say the direct words "UWS is shit" to imply it.

try reading my argument.

i said uws has lower uai's which means it has a slightly higher percentage of stupider students, which adversly affects tute experiences. <- Im not bagging out UWS, im merely saying that it is a flaw of the university. And dont say i dont know shit because i dont go there, i dont need to go there to know that the the likely hood of getting stupider people in na tute will mean that my chances to learn of other insightful and intelligent people is lowered (and thats one of the main focus's of tutes)

Yes i know that those students will more then probably drop out in the style of interlectual natural selection. Regardless of iff you all dont like what i have to say, i will continue to say it because it might just change someones mind from going to USYD and go to another university like Club Mac or the City Trio. (hows that for pot stiring)

Stupid people do get into university, i know alot of stupid people who are going to university. Several of my friends are doing universities courses that are way over there heads that its not funny. Why? they are not intelligent, didnt do the right subjects in the HSC but still got in because of the rock bottom UAI.

There are stupid people in all universities, granted to a variety of degrees. Perhaps your just not willing to admit you are wrong. Anyhoo if your giving up the fight this is just boring then.
