yes you were told wrong but DET can class EE2 as a CAPA (Creative Arts Subject making it four) but to do this you have to seek premission for it to be classed as that instead of an English Unit (very rarely happens)

I'm doing both 4 units... It is a lot of work -- a one unit subject normally has about the same work load (and a similar number of assessments) as a two unit subject; so it's the same work for half the units. As everyone else has been saying, you do need two other subjects, not just one. I'd probably recommend that anyway, just in case you want to drop. A lot of people do.

On the other hand, the extension 2's are both a lot of fun. I definitely find them the most interesting level of English and Maths.

If you want to do it, go for it.
