Transfer from Macquarie Game Design to UNSW Fine Arts. Please help (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone. I've almost finished my first semester at Macquarie Game Design and discovered that I absolutely hate computer programming so now I want to transfer to what I've always wanted to do which is fine arts at UNSW. So here's a few questions I wanna ask.
The cut off for fine arts at UNSW is 70. My ATAR is 82 and I've got a band 5 in Visual Art in HSC. I'm also very confident in my portfolio. If i start applying for the semester starting next year, am I pretty much guaranteed to get in? (I found out that I'm late for the deadlines for the semester starting July) I'm really interested in this course.
Secondly, if I fail the computer science unit that I'm currently doing, is that gonna have a bad effect on my record? I'm really really behind on the content and it'd be painful trying to catch up now.
Are there any other advice that you can give me? Thank you for reading and commenting on this.

So apparently I should drop out before taking the exam so I can still apply to UNSW using my ATAR instead of GPA. Can anyone confirm this? I'm in first semester first year

I dont think the GO8 unis take a half year load of subjects for transfers, i'm sure someone will confirm or prove me wrong - best to research it yourself.

I remember an odd situation when an ex-BoSer failed a 3cp subject which put him under a full years load and meant his ATAR was taken rather than his WAM.

Your results at MQ wont follow you to UNSW, you'll have a fresh transcript there unless you elect to get credit for any subjects you completed. (in which case those subjects alone will appear as credit transferred/automatic credit or something along those lines)
