I'm hoping to transfer from Advanced Science to Psych.

I almost got the UAI and i have the required WAM.

Has anyone actually done it, that can fill me in?

I know I have to go through UAC but how exactly? Is it the same as I applied for in year 12?

yes you applied the exact same way as year 12, but as a non recent school leaver, you can only apply it in two ways: by internet or by submitting form B to UAC by 30th september and from there just list the preferences you want and its all done

You can just transfer internally through the Uni system.

Doing it through UAC is the same, but you considered as a non-curent school leaver and its not just based on your WAM but also your UAI. WAM + UAI /2 gives you a new score (ranking) to which you apply through UAC and places designated to NCSL along with demand for the course (other people trying to transfer into it) will determine whether you get in. So its similar to HSC process.

Also check for other requirements that Universities want. Eg. STAT test.

Its all on the UAC webpage.

No, it goes through UAC.

And no they are not the same degrees. In Adv Sci you need to do the LIFExxxx subjects, but in a B Psych, you don't.

I agree, B Ad Science majoring is Psychology is almost the same as doing a B Psyc. If you are already in Adv Sci, just stay there and major in Psyc. When you transfer they wipe out your academic records and set your WAM back to 0.

Yes. The post-grad is on top of the B Psych.

If you did BSc (Adv) and 2 years post-grad on top, they might not recognise it. Well, as far as I'm concerned, its not on their list of recognised ones.
