perform an investigation to model the structure of a transformer to demonstrate how secondary voltage is produced.

i need help on this dot point. its one of the pracs that our teacher didnt go through. could some please explain to me how you would perform this investigation?

Here's what we did:
You take 2 solenoids- one is a proper solenoid and the other is a test tube wrapped loosely with copper wire.
You put the little one inside or very close to the big one.
Hook a power supply to one and voltmeters to both.
Turn on the power supply and observe how voltage is being produced in the circuit without a power supply and also how it's stepped either up or down depending on which one was your primary circuit.
