i have some how forgotten the function of the transitor. Everywhere i research it says that the transitior swithches and amplifies. I think i know what amplification is but i cant seem to find out what the deal with "switching" is.
Can anybody help me?

hahaha I'm sorry but I just had to mention that youve spelt transistor wrong three times in three different ways. Anyway, by "switching" it means that the transistor functions as an on\off switch - there are billions of these in a computer for example to make it work

Omg

Yeah thats pretty funny, i was pretty tired when i wrote that.
So switching just refers to their ability to act as a switch. Jesus that is lame, its like some extra thing they just through in their to make the transistor sound good.
