Remember most History Ext. trials are worth almost nothing so your focus should mainly be on the feedback you get, not the mark :).

That's an outrage! The project itself should be given 40% of overall assesment, and thus, about 80% of internal assesment. What is the wieghting of your project for internal assesment?

i agree with techie!!!

They syllabus states that the major project should account for 40/50 of inschool assessment marks!!! which is why you're meant to be working on it all year! Hence my trial, like most other ppl's would have only been about 5/50 yeh guys? So i directed my study towards other areas more so. Still managed 22/25 ( historiography) and 20/25 (casestudy) for 2005 CSSA :) Room 4 Improvement tho!

I think mine was CSSA.
My teacher's a HSC marker, and told our class after first reading our essays that there were a few which would get 25/25 in hsc, but he wasnt giving anyone 25 for the trial, because he doesnt want to get us all big-headed and stuff...
then he gave me 25/25 (said it would be criminal not to, haha) for what is history & 24/25 jfk.... Stoked to be me.

Judging from your scores, well done! Lets see if you can pull that those scores off in the real thing. Oh for those who didn't do so well, d/w about it, as techie said, your trials are almost worthless. I scored 26/50 in trials and got 45/50 total.

Could people post (or PM me) their historiography essays (if you've typed any/practice ones that have been marked). I'm having a few issues sorting out the balance between my argument and that of the critics we've studied. I'm often marked down for "not having enough quotes/detail", but seem to be marked up for having such strong arguments (crazy teacher). Which means I'm not scoring high enough, and I fear HSC markers will look down upon my lack of detail.

Cheers

Historians - 22/25
Case Study: Australia 1788-1851 - 22/25

Was ranked 1st for each of them; our teacher wanted to give us all a boot up the arse for the HSC cause she was worried that were getting complacent. Prolly a bit of truth to that.

Ended up with 49/50 for my overall assessment mark, which will, no doubt, get moderated down.

Off the topic, anyone else do Australia for their case study?
