Hi there,

My teacher gave us some questions on space, one of which was:

"Calculate how far an astronaut would need to be away above the Earth in order for his weight to be 0.01 his weight on the Earth's surface" (quoted verbatim).

I calculated this to be 5.73x10^7 m (approx, depending on accuracy of constants etc). My teacher calculated it to be 1.93x10^8 m. I have spoken to her, and she is adamant that she is correct but I think there is an error in her working. Could someone please check my calculations for me? Thanks.
