When Stalin was in power, he portrayed to be a counter-revolutionary etc etc and so everyone saw him to be the bad guy. This caused people to forget his vital contributions to the October Revolution of 1917 and his close relationship with Lenin.

However, as time has passed and society has learnt that he was extremeley significant and so his place in history as a great person has been re-established. Thus, trotsky pretty much completely supports that veiew.

But yea, you can talk about Trotsky's Russian image being smeared by Stalin's campaigns etc...

His contribution the Russia's civil war as a general and thinker

That sort of thing.

also there is the photos Stalin had [i dont know the term???] doctored? these photos were of trotsky and lenin and trotsky had been removed and stalin replaced him etc etc
