Is anyone else doing this? What are you guys focusing on in your study? eg personal memory/collective memory? history of ned kelly/opinions?

im doing this and this is what i think needs to be focused on. bescally you need an inclusion of everything.
you need to state what history and what memory are. that history has been traditionally objective and memory has been condemed as subjective but now the line that once separated them has become less important.
After you've talked about this for a while - make sure you include about post-modernism /how there can be no absolute truth there are just representations of a truth and that therefore all representations are valid.
you need to talk about THKG and how that fits within hist/mem but also representation and text. What that means is write about how carey has used inclusion of history - like the jerliderie letter (sorry bout the crap spellling) but also how the use of memory has been incorperated like the inclusion of a false daughter and what doing this has achieved for the text.
in relation to rep and text, you need to understand how there are multiple representations of kelly and carey's is just one of these , one reading.
you need to understand that he was not trying to write another non-fiction text book on kelly and the kelly gang, he wanted to present a humanised version of kelly, one which would chalenge the auidence to question could this have been what kelly was really like?

THEN after all that you'll need some related text, prob one in DEPTH and then one other not as in depth of you can do two depending on how good you wnat to go or how much time you think you will have. Your related text you can use to talk about how kelly is represented, llike choose a text which is a contrasting rep of kelly or you can use it to coment on the role of hist/mem or if your really smart you could do both.
yeah i hope that helps
good luck for tomorrow.
