Personally I just think it would be quicker to learn this type of job through a degree or diploma or something, otherwise it might take years before you master it.Film Business - A Handbook for Producers said:People in business can't imagine why anyone would want to be a producer.
Producers need to have skills and dexterity far beyond those of mere mortals. Producers are required to be tactful, witty at lunch, compassionate, charming to actors, clever with money, patient at the fifteenth meeting, mechanically able to fix a photocopier, and able to remember thousands of details and their significance.
And when things go wrong everyone wants their producer.
The producer is:
the person whose job it is to get the picture made;
the person who is ultimately responsible for the delivery of the film in the agreed style and at specified length;
the person in control of budget and personnel;
the person who, more often than not, is the first one on the project and, years later after the marketing is completed, the last one off.
It's a very complex job.
