can a school not allow you from doing a TVET course ?
can a school not allow you from doing a TVET course ?
Hey, you got you HSC year wrong. It should be 2010.swathard said:no they can't stop you!! it's not fair, it's YOUR subject choice.
look, my sister is in year 12 atm and she is doing a TVET course. she is the ONLY one from the school doing it. they originally told her no, but she fought for it and they eventually allowed her to do it.
the only risk is that your school may attempt to sabotage your performance in other subjects by NOT putting free periods in the slot where you'd go to TAFE for the TVET course.. my sister got put Ext. 1 maths . . . . and eventually she had to drop it because she couldn;t handle missing out on so many periods!
she's done the accounting HSC (coz its done at the end of year 11 at TAFE) and she got ALL distinctions! a band 6 GUARANTEED.
and it was all coz she fought for what she believed in and battled to gain the RIGHT she has to select subjects she wants, that she needs for her career (she is going into accounting) and that will help her out - in fact, she got an accounting CADETSHIP recently, and the whole fact that she had the TVET accounting course up her sleeve made her all the more appealing to the interviewers
but good luck mate, STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU WANT and don't let them trod all over you!!
Possibly. But it depends on their reasoning.xXmuffin0manXx said:simple question..
