Yep. I'm from the U.S. and will be at USyd next semester and would like some idea of how to find housing! Affordability would be great, but I know Sydney is a very expensive place. I think I'd like to be near the university because I won't have a car or anything. I definitely need to be in a social area/complex, hopefully a good number of both exchange students and Australian students. Ideas?
Where do people usually live?

Also, feel free to ask my questions about Texas/U.S. culture if you want.

Which university in Sydney are you going to? That would be essential information to be able to give you some advice.

Hey
Have you tried contacting the Sydney Uni accommodation office? They might be able to find you some accommodation at the University itself. You can also check gumtree.com.au (Australian version of craigslist) or domain.com.au for shared apartments near Sydney Uni as that might be cheaper. I would (hopefully) be starting my first year at Sydney Uni in 2016. What are you planning to study here? Is it undergrad or postgrad?
