Hi,

Does anyone know about this program which is offered by UNSW called U@UNSW?
I am currently in Year 11 and our whole year group got emailed about the program and gave limited information about what it actually is. All I know is that you have to apply for it and that there are conferences which you must attend to be illegible to gain 3 bonus points at UNSW. The program is aimed at LSES students, but I have no idea if I am considered to be an LSES student...

I will be asking the teacher who wrote the email for more info tomorrow at school but was looking for some more personal experiences etc.

Here is a link to a brochure which was included in the email:

I feel like they should've offered more than 3 bonus points because you go for 7 days. However, I do think it is worth it and you should go :)

I did this program last year. If you join this program, you will have to go to the conferences, do quizzes, write one essay and one group speech. If you get 50+/100 overall then you will get 3 bonus points. Also, if you choose to go to UNSW and your ATAR is in the top 40 out of all U@UNSW students, you will get $4000.

Hi milkshakequeen!

Yes, I would recommend that you do this program, as 3 bonus points can go a long way, and UNSW has a notorious reputation of not offering much bonus points, so grab what you can earn!!! I did this program last year and I can definitely attest to its worth. As ngocha11 outlined, yes you will have to do some work, but it is definitely worth it.

I will be one of your U@UNSW Ambassadors for this year, so I look forward to seeing you at the conferences! :)

A lot of students take commerce/economics double because they are sure they want to work in a business field, but are unsure which part of business. Three years is a short time to decide your future (or your next decade at least). Commerce/economics provides two qualifications which are very similar, and allows students greater breadth across the business school. I'd guess and say its the most common commerce dual degree.
