best thing to do would be to have a browse around the UAC site - they're bound to have the info you're after.

Otherwise, call the student centre:)

hey, how you going? I went through the same process when i wanted to transfer degrees. Basically there are two ways you can go about switching degrees; the first is to apply through the Guaranteed Internal course transfer scheme. You have to have an ABOVE credit average, which means a GPA above 5 in order to get guaranteed entry. I copied and pasted the link on it for you :) http://www.uws.edu.au/studyoptions/australian/undergraduate/transfer
I got the form from the student centre but i think u can also get it online from the forms page.

The other option is through UAC, where you apply as you did in order to get entry into your original degree, the only difference is you can now list additional qualifications, such as what you've already completed in your degree, tafe courses above Cert 3, work experience thats at least a year long, full time and payed and of course, Your UAI/HSC results. I applied using the form inside the UAC Guide i bought for around 15 bucks, but I'm pretty sure you can apply through their website, www.uac.edu.au

When i was looking to transfer I applied through both cos I wasnt sure if i'd get an above credit average, so I had the UAC application to fall back on

Hope this helps, take it easy

UAc is like the process you did in yr 12 to get into uni, thats if you did it that way...
but get the uac guide, the one that isnt the yr 12 one, it should have the Form B!!!!
then follow the intructions, at the uac website: http://www.uac.edu.au/mya/admin/tertiary.html you should get a rough idea if you read through that stuff. if not, you can call up the uac hotline to get things cleared up.

Hey, did you end up getting your transfer ? If so, from what course to what, and which way worked for you ?

that document just tells you whether you have a good chance of a transfer or a 99.9% chance basically so you dont waste your maoney/time/stress/etc. i mean if you know what your equivalent uai is from your uni marks [and trasnferring at uws, they take your highest rank] you can predict whether you can trasnfer or not, so you can relax, thats all.

Yes, fill our form B if oyu want to and mail it, or if you have a credit card, do it online is a quicker method if you dont want or need the uac guide.

just one more question, ive applied and all (thru apply-by-web) but they didnt ask my GPA/UAI.....will they just automatically know when it gets released?

they will get all your marks that you have given them and give it to the uni's that are labelled in your preferences to which the unis will make their decision as to whether they will accept your application.

didnt the thing ask you for your course and which uni you went to and your student number? didnt you put in the form your student ID when you were at high school? You must give them this info for them to know what marks they will use.
I used form B as it was easier for me to check any mistakes before sending it off to uac, so i called uac up and ask about which uni do i put down (they had UWs mac/Nepean/etc which was confusing] and so i also asked about how to fill in their forms and they said you must provide it to them.

UWS, like i said, doe snot use this method, but takes all your marls [i.e. uni, uai, work experience, etc.] and selects the highest of all your marks and uses that as your selection mark i.e. the "uai" they use for entry into UWS. Other Unis use thier own system, such as the one you mentioned where they use 50 UAI/ 50 UNI.
Let me repeat that UWS takes your HIGHEST RANK and uses that as your ENTRY/SELECTION MARK.

Sorry for the caps but best to make sure its clear.
Rightio,

klh

PS this info is the same and is currentin the Undergraduate Courses Guide on page 62.

omg that is hte best new ive ever heard :D:D:D:D:D

coz my 1st sem GPA is 4.6 which is equal to a selection rank of 85....if i just get a pass average this sem that'll bring my GPA down to 4.3 which is still around 80 in selection rank.

my UAI was 60.65 so as long as they dont take that into consideration i will most definently get in :D:D:D:D:D:D:D::D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

yayyyyyyyyy

well i dont see the cutoff rising 20.00 points lol.
