silly question relli, and its probably been answered a few thousand times, but what does the UAI actually mean? doesn't it mean, for example, if you got a UAI of 90, then, your HSC marks were ranked higher than 90% of the state HSC candidature?

Is there a way of converting your UAI into a raw aggregate percentage? (for equivalency purposes)?

thanks everyone

A UAI of 90 means that on the basis of your aggregated scaled marks, you were ranked equal to or better than 90% of your state age cohort (i.e. people your own age who completed the School Certificate with you two years earlier).

Don't know what you mean by a "raw aggregate percentage" - you could reverse engineer your UAI back into your scaled aggregate, but it's not going to help you in any way. UAIs are already comparable with scores from other states as they are (ENTER in Vic, TER in SA etc).
