st ives high school
mark rank
ESL: 65-75% 4-8/34
3U maths: ~75% 9/45
4U maths: ~50-60% 10-15/21

i did compared my result with my bros at same school(last yr hsc)
he did almost the same as me except chemistry instead of sdd
he got 78 in esl,82 chem, 88 physics, 89 4umaths, 92 3umaths and got 95.05 uai
(all moderated marks)

and ranking at school is like
average or slight above (10-15/35?) in esl
top 5 in chem
top 5 in physics
top 5 in 3umaths(?)
top 10 in 4umaths

were those raw marks, or already moderated by school?
cause the person who got 90 had much higher marks.

93-95 is too high for those marks, escpecially for non-selective school.

EDIT: and don't count on SDD to give you good marks, lol

average SDD marks don't scale well.

if raw... mabye 90... your ranks aren't spectacular

edit: 90 would definately be upper limit.

A subject is only 'scaled really well' if you are usually at the end of the bell curve. :)

Isn't that contradicting the whole concept of scaling? If all the students were placed on a bell curve certain students would be on one end (the good end :p ) and most would do certain subjects (4U maths phys/chem) so being in the middle of that group would really be like being at the end of the bell curve.
Its all of the people that choose certain subjects for their perceived scaling advantage that makes things confusing:confused:
