i was wonderin, a uai of 97.95 wat is my rank in the state?
would it be lik around top 2000 ppl?

then groups of 42 for each increment, or thereabouts.

that makes 22 + 42.41

=1744 people.

(this is probably a maximum...I remember reading somewhere that there were less people in the lower increments...so take flyin's estimate just to be safe...)

i think there were around 64 000 students ... so it would be 00.205 multiplied by 64 000 which is about 1300 ...

If u really wanna kno exact details, u can read the UAC's Report on Scaling 2001 HSC (last yr's HSC) it tells u exactly how many people got in each UAI bracket (eg, 100-90, 80-89, 70-79 etc, and u can estimate from there)

The UAI ranks you against the students who took the SC with you two years ago (more like 85 000) rather than just those who continued on to do the HSC (which was what the old TER did).

Will somebody's SC marks be taken into account in determining UAI?
(so if he/she did really poor on SC, the UAI will be poor)

so can u compare TERs with UAIs?
or would a TER be comparatively lower than a UAI, since fewer people were considered e.g. 98 TER = 97 UAI???

my sister got a TER of 97.7 and i wanted to match that....so i was thinking of a UAI 98+, but it looks like it'll have to be revised to ~98.6
