Hey fellas, is it possible to predict a UAI with ranks only? I'm not entirely sure on my marks... they should all roughly be 70%+ but anyway.. here are my ranks..

<TABLE style="BORDER-LEFT-COLOR: rgb(192,192,192); BORDER-BOTTOM-COLOR: rgb(192,192,192); BORDER-TOP-COLOR: rgb(192,192,192); BORDER-RIGHT-COLOR: rgb(192,192,192)" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=2 border=1><TBODY><TR><TD align=right></TD><TD>English (Advanced)</TD><TD align=right>2</TD><TD>54 / 72</TD><TD> </TD></TR><TR><TD align=right></TD><TD>Legal Studies</TD><TD align=right>2</TD><TD>9 / 27</TD><TD> </TD></TR><TR><TD align=right></TD><TD>General Mathematics</TD><TD align=right>2</TD><TD>18 / 68</TD><TD> </TD></TR><TR><TD align=right></TD><TD>Modern History</TD><TD align=right>2</TD><TD>10 / 35</TD><TD> </TD></TR><TR><TD align=right></TD><TD>Personal Development, Health and Physical Education</TD><TD align=right>2</TD><TD>25 / 55</TD><TD> </TD></TR><TR><TD align=right></TD><TD>Studies of Religion I</TD><TD align=right>1</TD><TD>55 / 111</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

u mite be able to get a rough estimate but then it doesnt take into account moderated assessment marks and scaling.
i put my ranks into the SAM thing eg. 1/50 = 100% and 20/50 = 60% as my hsc mark. i got a rather nice UAI of 96.5 however somehow i think thats a bit unlikely!
and then again the SAM is rather old (2004) so take the UAI down a bit and my fantasy UAI is probably 92.5 ! lol i wish!

hmmm..with them kind of ranks i think u will be luky to get a uai of 40......juzkidden, umm i really dunno how they do it, i mean i keep thinking that ranks mean shyt the most important thing is the hsc mark and uai nutin else..but i dunno if thats true.. i mean wat are the rankings used for exactly.. i know they rank us against other students in our cohort.. but i mean coming first doesnt mean u will get band 6, ive seen it happen numerous times hehee. if someone can give an explanation on rankings, i mite give an estimate hehe.
