- English Advanced - rank 1/12 - trial mark 80/100

- Mathematics - rank 1/8 - trial mark 71/100

- Legal Studies - rank 1/16 - trial mark 91/100

- Modern History - rank 1/7 - trial mark 87/100

- Business Studies - rank 1/13 - trial mark 84/100

- Mathematics Extension 1 - rank 2/3 - trial mark 24/50

Hope you're a bit closer to the mark lol. Would you suggest I focus less on extension and more on 2 unit?

I think that you should focus a little more on both, extension is a scaler and 2 unit your not too far from the states average, if you could work your way to a near band 5 and a decent mark for extension, say a pass mark you may be able to get in your 90's for UAI. though i think its a bit harder to get 90's. i think your looking at 80's with thoes marks.

He came first in 6/7 subjects, came second in one of the seven...
For trials he has recieved 6/7 Band 6's and one band 5.

You'd have to give the rankings and marks for the correct subjects. But from what you've said, he's looking at 85+

What makes matters worse is he receives it on his 18th birthday.
I'm not too sure of his actual marks for each subject personally, but i know they are great...

In fact, though I'm not positive on this, I think we actually get disadvantaged school points...
