Last month, a worldwide survey was conducted by the UN. The only question
was:

"Would you please give your honest opinion about the solutions to the
food shortage in the rest of the world?"

The survey was, not surprisingly, a huge failure.

Because:

In Africa they didn't know what "food" meant.

In Eastern Europe they didn't know what "honest" meant.

In Western Europe they didn't know what "shortage" meant.

In China they didn't know what "opinion" meant.

In the Middle East they didn't know what "solution" meant.

In South America they didn't know what "please" meant.

And, in the USA they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant.

maybe because once when the people of china tried to express an opinion, the gov't sent out bulldozers

which crushed the opinions and the people who held them,

literally.

'll try to explain...most south americans when speaking in spanish dont use "please" (thatz an example)...according to my parents, its become custom and other south americans wouldnt take offence or think you're inpolite if u dont say "please" or whatever else...when a south american person has english as their second language, they may simply translate something in spanish to the english and because they arent used to saying "please" (im gonna keep using this example cuz i cant think of others), they leave that out of it and it may seem rude but they certainly dont mean to be...there are rude south americans but u cant generalise.
