Undergraduate/Postgraduate teaching degree (1 Viewer)

Just wondering which one people think is better.
I'm doing law/arts at anu next year and was thinking of doing postgraduate teaching. Does anyone know of any degree's which let you do both primary and secondary teaching in one??
Also does studying law qualify you to be an english teacher and would archaeology be sufficient to be a history teacher?
I also read somewhere that to be a qualified religion teacher you only need to study one or two units of religion. does anyone know if this is true??

^most of the universities have similar guidelines - I doubt you'll be able to teach english with your law degree.

Doesn't seem likely that you can teach english with a law degree. (You might be able to teach legal studies though.) You will have to do a major in English in the arts part of your degree, I think, if you want to teach English.

CSU has a degree that they claim prepares you for teaching K-12

I remember looking at this course in some detail because somebody else was asking about it a couple of years ago. I came to the conclusion that for mathematics at any rate (which is my subject area) it was pretty mickey mouse - I don't think it would prepare you well at all for teaching senior high school maths. The course is currently under review, as are many education courses at many unis, so what it will look like in the future, who knows. Also, since English is not my speciality, I can't really comment on the english major in that course.
