Has anyone applied through this method to get a spot into uni? Can you defer using this option? If you have applied and successfully gotten into your chosen course, could you please list it in your reply. Thanks!

you mean SRAS, I have put in my form but have not got a reply yet.

Yeah I got in through this method last year, just about all the UNE-ers on this forum got in through the SRAS.
I'm pretty sure you can defer using that option.

Oh, and if I remember correctly, I got a response a few days before I got my UAI (mid December) so you guys have a while to wait still before you hear back from them.
