Anyone else notice how the uni costs have dramatically dropped for the 2009 group? Was generally looking at Science courses.

Usyd:
http://www.usyd.edu.au/fstudent/costs/
$7412 now $4162 (per EFTSL)

Unsw:
https://my.unsw.edu.au/student/fees/StudentContribution2.html
$4162 (only students commencing 2009)

UTS:
http://www.sau.uts.edu.au/fees/undergraduate/domestic.html
At 6 CP, the cost is $520, thus (1 EFTSL= $4160)

Uow:
http://www.uow.edu.au/student/finances/UOW008173.html
$7,412

Uws:
http://www.uws.edu.au/currentstudents/current_students/paying_your_fees/fees/student_contribution/bands_and_amounts
$4162

Anu:
http://www.anu.edu.au/sas/fees/tuition_fees_undergraduate/sas57-2009.pdf
$4162

Has this got anything to do with rising interest rates or popularity of subjects?

Also why does Uow student contribution to the course remain unchanged?

Why couldn't they have done that this year? XO

This is also the first year they decided to go from fourteen weeks to twelve weeks, which is not as good as it sounds -.-;

TAFE :)

$5 for a Diploma, an extra $1 gets you an Advanced Diploma

But yeah, you would think the phasing out of DFEE would mean higher fees.

iirc one of the ALP's policies for the 2007 election was to reduce the cost of maths and science degrees, because they want more people with qualifications in those areas. so the cost of those subjects has been reduced to the 'national priority' cost of $4162pa, which is also the price for education and nursing. you'll notice that prices remain the same for all other subjects.

Interesting... but how come the cost of UOW science remains the same ($7412)?
