Having troubles with these 2 questions

rofl, i hate this shit. i just dont wanna learn it. my stomach lurches every time i see a question regarding the formal definition of the limit. its the one thing stopping me from majoring in mathematics. FUCK.

Put all the junk in the absolute value sign over a common denominator and you get something like

7/9(3x+2).

Then we can do some "sloppy maths" (which we can get away with in this case cause we're dealing with inequalities) to get what we want.

So we are trying to make

7/9(3x+2) < epsilon,

so it is sufficient to make 1/(3x+2) < episilon (since all quantities are +ve)

Actually, while we're about it, why not just make

1/3x < epsilon, i.e, x>1/3epsilon should do the trick.

Thus k=1/3.

The point is that you don't have to find the *best* value for k, just one that will work.
